Sue Williams – Chief Executive

Sue was appointed Chief Executive of Cabrini Australia in December 2019. She has more than 25 years’ experience in the healthcare industry at senior management level in both the public and private sectors. She has held various roles including the Director of Nursing at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Chief Operating Officer of 44 hospitals at Healthscope and Chief Executive Officer at Peninsula Health. Sue originally trained as a nurse and has postgraduate qualifications in business management and a Master of Business Administration from Monash University. She has completed an Advanced Management Program at Harvard University and the Australian Institute of Company Directors course. She joined Cabrini as Chief of Health Operations in October 2017.

Jason Aquilina – Chief Financial Officer

Jason Aquilina joined Cabrini in 2011 as Director of Finance and was appointed Chief Financial Officer in August 2017. In this role, he has executive responsibility for Cabrini’s patient accounts, payroll, accounts payable, management accounting, procurement, enterprise risk management, finance and treasury functions. Before Cabrini, Jason worked in transport and logistics, where he held multiple finance roles including leading the accounting teams for various large infrastructure and information technology projects. Jason is a certified practising accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in accounting and economics. Jason holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Monash University majoring in accounting and economics and is a Fellow of CPA Australia (FCPA) and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).

Dr Piraveen Pirakalathanan – Group Director, Medical Services and Clinical Governance

Piraveen commenced in the role in February 2026. He holds executive responsibility for patient experience, safety and quality, and provides leadership across medical services, including supporting engagement with Visiting Medical Officers. Piraveen is a Specialist Medical Administrator with strong clinical acumen and extensive experience across clinical governance, medical workforce, service planning and delivery, and digital health. Prior to joining Cabrini, he held senior leadership roles at Mercy Hospital for Women and Barwon Health, and has also worked in executive positions within the medical technology sector. He currently serves as a Board Director at a Victorian community health service.

Louise Alexander – Executive Director Malvern

Louise commenced as the Executive Director Malvern in March 2023, with oversight of Cabrini Malvern’s operation and the hospital’s redevelopment. Prior to taking on this role, Louise had a long career at Cabrini, commencing as a Graduate Nurse 1999. Since this time, Louise has worked across a variety of roles including Nurse Manager – Anaesthetics/PACU, Operating Suite Manager, Project Manager (Financial Initiatives), Director of Business Development and Senior Clinical Project Manager (Malvern Redevelopment). Louise also worked as the Nurse Manager, Perioperative Services at Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg for seven years. Louise has a Master of Nursing (Management Stream) and Graduate Diploma of Nursing (Perioperative).

Paul Vine – Group Director Legal and Corporate Affairs

Paul joined Cabrini in December 2020 as General Counsel and Company Secretary and from April 2023 has been responsible for Cabrini’s legal, corporate affairs and company secretariat functions. He has over 30 years’ experience spanning legal and governance functions in industry and legal practices. Paul previously held senior executive in-house legal and governance roles at Austin Health, IOOF and Bell Potter, following an early career in legal practices in London and Melbourne and in-house at Telstra and AXA. Paul is also Cabrini’s Company Secretary, a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors

Brigid Meney – Group Director, Identity and Mission

Brigid joined Cabrini in August 2026 as Group Director, Identity & Mission. She has extensive experience in Catholic health and aged care, most recently serving as Director of Strategy and Mission at Catholic Health Australia. Brigid began her career nursing in aged care before moving into government advisory roles at state and federal level, developing broad experience across health and social policy. She holds an Arts degree and Masters in Nursing from the University of Sydney, and a Masters in Public Leadership and Policy from the University of New South Wales.

John Gomes, Acting Chief Information Officer

Professor Gary Richardson OAM – Group Director, Cabrini Research

Professor Gary Richardson holds the Neil Beauglehall Endowed Chair in Medical Oncology Research. He is the Group Director, Cabrini Research, Director of Oncology Clinics Victoria, a member of the Cabrini Australia Executive and a Professor of Medicine at Monash University. He is a past Chairman of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia and immediate past president of the Private Cancer Physicians of Australia. He established the cancer clinical research program at Cabrini, the Cabrini Family Cancer Clinic and the Oncology Service at Cabrini Brighton. Prof Richardson is involved in the design, development and conduct of clinical trials and personally acts as principal investigator in many clinical studies in lung, gastrointestinal and gynaecological malignancy, as well as development of novel compounds for the treatment of cancer.

Adj Prof Megan Mills – Group Director, Nursing and Clinical Education

RN, BNurs, GDipAdClinNur (Neuroscience), GDipAdClinNur (Intensive Care), MHL, MACN

Megan joined Cabrini in February 2024 as Group Director Nursing and Clinical Education. She has significant executive, operational, and education experience in both public and private sector settings. Megan has completed Postgraduate Diplomas in Advanced Clinical Nursing from the University of Melbourne in Neurosciences and Intensive Care, having extensive clinical and management experience in both areas at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. Megan is also an Adjunct Professor at Monash University with a focus on clinical practice and academic research in nursing. Megan’s other professional qualifications include a Master of Healthcare Leadership. She has a passion for optimising patient outcomes and experience and driving operational excellence through the ongoing development of extraordinary clinical teams. Megan is also an Assessor with the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards (ACHS).

Fiona Chapman – Group Director People, Culture & Transformation

Fiona joined Cabrini in October 2024. She has extensive experience in the healthcare sector in Australia and overseas. Fiona brings a wealth of experience in workforce planning, talent development, enterprise bargaining negotiations and the implementation of HR systems in complex organisations. Fiona’s professional qualifications include a Master’s degree, Human Resources Management from RMIT University and a Bachelor of Applied Science, Major in Anatomy and Behavioural Psychology from Monash University.

Sharon Sherwood – Chief of Mental Health and Cabrini Outreach

Sharon joined Cabrini in June 2021, with responsibility for mental health and outreach services. Sharon is a specialist in operational and clinical management with many experience working across mental health services in Australia and the UK. She has extensive, hands-on experience in the clinical sector, specifically in operational leadership and management specialising in managing complex mental health service systems with a focus on improvement. During her career, Sharon has led multiple teams through the successful development and implementation of innovative models of care and service systems that reflect a more responsive and timely design that better meets the population health and community need. In addition to her strong passion and commitment to mental health, Sharon is tertiary qualified with a B Med Sci (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing and is a graduate of the Williamson Community Leadership Program 2018.
